Turns out, I didn’t have court after all.

Someone or some people among your own history sometime killed your U.S.A. nation already, Hugh. Someone who had authority, or should have had authority and did not exercise authority. I do not know. But someone sometime let you forget how to choose, and what. Someone let your peoples forget it was the only thing of importance, choosing. So completely forgetting that when I say *choose* to you you make expressions with your face such as “Herrrrrrrrre we are going.” Someone taught that temples are for fanatics only and took away the temples and promised there was no need for temples.

48 years ago today, the BBC televised a daft little show about a man with a flying box. They didn’t expect much; it was suppose to be an educational family show. It relied on string and staples for it’s special effects. It’s main villain had a sink plunger attached to it. Yet, almost half a decade later, the show has become a national institution for Britain, an international phenomenon, and along with it has produced a fandom that spans three generations. 48 years ago today, the BBC televised Doctor Who, a daft old show, and probably the most loved too.
*sniff* Thanks BBC!

the lost Dr. Whos (TIL)
From Wikipedia:
” In all, 108 of 253 episodes produced during the first six years (most notably series 3, 4, & 5, from which 90 episodes are missing) of the programme are not held in the BBC’s archives.”

Yesterday we did a historic thing. We generated 87,834 phone calls to U.S. Representatives in a concerted effort to protect the Internet. Extraordinary. There’s no doubt that we’ve been heard.
So just to keep you updated: The well-intentioned, but immensely flawed “Stop Online Piracy Act” is still in the House Judiciary Committee. The hearing was yesterday and now members will debate and bring amendments to the bill. The Committee will reconvene in a few weeks — the date has yet to be scheduled. Nothing has been brought to a final vote. Everything is still very much in play. We’ll keep you posted on what’s going on and what you can do to help. But for now, we want to thank you.
One encouraging thing we heard yesterday:
I don’t believe this bill has any chance on the House floor. I think it’s way too extreme, it infringes on too many areas that our leadership will know is simply too dangerous to do in its current form.
— Representative Darrell Issa
We also want to express our tremendous gratitude to our friends at Mobile Commons who, on 30 minutes notice, hooked us up with their amazing platform (and provided their expertise) to automatically connect callers with their Representatives.

court
My court date is coming up - just about two weeks from today. I’m not looking forward to it. I’m trying to stop myself from dreading it, in fact. I think dreading would be a little melodramatic - admittedly, it is what I want to do with this court case, however. I e-mailed my manager and we’ll find out today if I have to waste one of my last precious vacation days on it. I wish the case was just cancelled…

1) Peanut butter toast, never leave my life.
2) 495 is the scariest thing in my life right now.
